Last year, the work-station was located in the computer lab/classroom. As one would imagine, this was a distraction for the IT staff and the class. This year, the IT department will be in a separate room. Foundation money went to the supplies needed to build a work-station specifically designed for the tech department.
During ESY, several students and staff members planned, planted and tended to the Lionsgate Community Garden. The gardeners planted fruits and vegetables. Foundation money went to buy the materials and the plants.
The LGA School Board will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Lionsgate Academy Worship Center. The board will update the community on staff training, and the assessment of students. Lionsgate Academy Executive Director Stan Hacker will also address staffing, after school clubs and teacher workshops.

Lionsgate Academy’s third year was a banner year. It was a year of firsts, with the inaugural spring play, spring gala and graduation ceremony. This is a quick look back at LGA’s best year yet.
The special school board meeting and strategic planning meeting will be held on Saturday in Room 7 at Lionsgate Academy.
Field Day is a Lionsgate Academy tradition which started the first year LGA was open. On the last day of school, the students participate in a multitude of games. When the students leave for the day, they walk a gauntlet of applause and high fives.
There will be a special school board meeting on July 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Lionsgate Academy Multi-Purpose Room. The board is planning to revise the (link to document here)Resolution on Reserve Balances and Fiscal Management Practices. The open forum will discuss the wording of the policy around cash reserves and cash balance practices.
There will also be a strategic planning meeting immediately following. The board will discuss the following…

c. How do we incorporate mental health needs into the learning model? - Developing and using community resources and partnerships
