How My Path Took a Turn for the Better
Lionsgate Academy is a school where, no matter how different you are, you can always find a friend who shares some of your interests. Before coming to LGA, I felt rejected, like an outcast. Now I have learned how to open up to people and have made many friends because of this. The teachers here are amazing! You can really tell in the support they give all students that they genuinely care. It’s amazing what an impact such a small place can have. I feel that Lionsgate helped turn my life from the dark path it was set on before. I feel as though I have another family here, and I really think the feeling goes both ways.
Joey – Lionsgate Academy Student
I would like to share what a difference has been made in my son Joey’s life since attending Lionsgate Academy. Joey had a “rough” academic, emotional,and social career while attending the public school in our community. When I received information on this new charter school we decided to enroll Joey and see if this could possibly be a “good fit” for his needs. Upon enrollment I was excited by the enthusiasm shown by the teachers and staff and their commitment to understanding each child and trying their hardest to do the best for each individual child.Within the first several weeks I began to see wonderful and unexpected changes in Joey. He suddenly didn’t fight going to school, he made comments such as “they ‘get’ me there”. Joey felt comfortable in his surroundings and as a result found success in academics and socially, as well. Joey found a group of friends during that time and has grown so much in learning about the dynamics of friendship and how to be empathetic towards others I truly believe that the Lionsgate community has greatly impacted Joey in a positive way and has enabled him to be and accept who he is and become a more self-confident person.
