Look your best and smile for the camera. Picture information and order forms for student picture day were handed out to students in their Prides on Wednesday. Picture day is Tuesday, September 27, and picture retake day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18.
The next Parent Pride meeting will be Thursday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lionsgate Academy Fellowship Hall. All parents of new and returning students are invited to attend. The Pride will establish leadership, shape the group’s mission and plan a fall pot luck and future events. For more details, contact Aimee Herbes.
Join “Team Lionsgate” on the first floor of the Mall of America on September 24 for the Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. in the Sears courtyard. The opening ceremonies will begin at 8:00 at the Rotunda and the half-mile walk around the first floor of MOA will begin at 8:15. The walk will conclude with the closing ceremonies at 9:15 at the Rotunda.
The Theaters at the Mall of America will show a free sensory-friendly showing of Yogi Bear at 10:30 a.m., immediately following the walk. The lights will be on and the sound will be turned down. The Theaters of the Mall of America are located on the fourth floor.

Join Lionsgate Academy and Pizza Hut for the 4th annual motorcycle benefit on Saturday August 20. The three-and-a-half-hour ride will start at 10:30 a.m., with a pre-ride instruction 15 minutes before take off. Registration for single riders is $20 and rider with a passenger is $25. A ticket to the St. Paul Saints/Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks game the night of the charity ride is included with the entry fee. Additional tickets may be purchased the day of the ride at Pizza Hut. Those who attend the Saints game will be treated to special VIP motorcycle parking, and a special tailgate area.
Also, at the Saints Game, those attending in support of Lionsgate Academy will have seats in a special section and be able to participate in a motorcycle ride around the bases before the game.
Family and Friends of Lionsgate Academy are also welcome to purchase Saints tickets at the event.
The LGA School Board will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Lionsgate Academy Worship Center. The board will update the community on staff training, and the assessment of students. Lionsgate Academy Executive Director Stan Hacker will also address staffing, after school clubs and teacher workshops.
There will be a special school board meeting on July 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Lionsgate Academy Multi-Purpose Room. The board is planning to revise the (link to document here)Resolution on Reserve Balances and Fiscal Management Practices. The open forum will discuss the wording of the policy around cash reserves and cash balance practices.

Summer vacation is a great opportunity to get a head start with high interest areas. Microsoft now has an online resource for students who want to pursue a future with computers.
DreamSpark.com allows students to explore various Microsoft programs with online tutorials and the opportunity to download certain programs. LGA students may also be available for discounts on software and certification exams.
