Let’s have some fun!  Bring your ideas when you come.

Swing is a fun, old-school type of dance, originally created in the 1920′s.  It is a partner -ballroom dance.  Swing dancing involves tons of fun moves, and is always accompanied by wonderful up-beat Jazz music!  Swing dancing is a super fun way to get a great work out in, and is full of energy, excitement, music, and learning!”

The goal will be to have fun in small group activities remembering the importance of patience and turn taking.  Games will vary depending on group interest.  The games will be student lead with staff to assist.

There will be four sections of music: Instrumental, Percussion, Production(Digital Music) and Voice.  The students will pick a specialty and explore musical themes.  As the semester progresses, the groups will start developing large group musical pieces leading towards performance opportunities.

This club is for everyone interested in Martial Arts.  Come, bring a friend, share and learn from each other about martial arts from around the world.  Martial Arts will strengthen your sense of balance, focus, self-esteem and self-descipline.  Martial Arts also foster respect, responsibility, confidence and leadership which helps you become a stronger member of your community.  Come prepared to work hard, work up a sweat, participate in training and have a fun time.  This is a safe, structured environment where you will learn basic Tae Kwon Do techniques.  Basic stances, striking, blocking and kicking techniques will be learned, practiced and assembled into patterns or forms.  Forms are an effective way of practicing fighting skills without contact, while perfecting to both offensive and defensive techniques.  As skills develop you will learn how to transfer those skills to traditional martial arts weapons such as eskrima, kamas, nunchaku, and tonfas.  You will also learn some useful street level self-defense techniques.  If you want to challenge yourself physically and mentally join the Lionsgate Martial Arts club.

This is a chance for students to work together in a preferred activity.  They will get a chance to share their individual creativity as well as work cooperatively on larger projects.  Using legos in stop motion animation may be a highlight of this club during the semester.

Students will have the opportunity to work on class work in an environment conducive to focused learning.  Staff will be available to support students, though they may not be experts in those particular subject areas.  This may provide students the chance to take the “Home” out of homework, or just get the extra time to polish up their larger projects without the distractions that may be found in their bedrooms at home.
