The next monthly school board meeting will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday May 15 in the LGA Fellowship Hall. The board will review the results of the Student Individual Learning Plans, approve the SBS contract and approve the 2012-13 budget. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The Lionsgate Academy School Board (District 4183) has released the list and bios of candidates for the upcoming board elections. There are three open seats this year; one for a licensed staff member, one for a parent of a currently enrolled student and one for a community member. The elections will be held May 14 and 15 (location to be determined).

The board will discuss the volunteer appreciation dinner on May 15, receive an update from the executive director search and an update from Senator’s Bonoff’s bill. Lionsgate Academy’s (District 4183) School Board will hold a special meeting 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at Lionsgate Academy. The board will interview the final candidates for the Executive Director’s position. The public is invited to attend.
The Board of Directors of Lionsgate Academy is responsible for oversight of our school and helps to shape its direction now and for the future.
Please consider running for the Board. There are three seats to be filled in the election this spring: a parent, a teacher and a community member outside of the school. To become a candidate, or if you know a good candidate, contact the Nominating Committee at nominations@lgamn.org and download the job description, duties and application. We need to hear from you on or before April 5.
Also, please volunteer your time for the upcoming LGA Board election. Help is needed to participate in the Nominating Committee, staff the voting room, count ballots and to host a candidate “meet and greet” event. Your participation in any of these is welcomed! There was a notice on the Lionsgate Academy website noting that there will be an open meeting tomorrow for the Executive Director Interviews in the MPR. This meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday April 21 at 8 a.m. at Lionsgate Academy. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Lionsgate Academy School Board approved the proposed 2012-13 school year calendar at the monthly meeting on March 20. The school year will start on Tuesday, September 4 and end Thursday, June 13, 2013. Download the complete calendar to see when breaks and conferences are scheduled.

The next monthly Lionsgate Academy School Board Meeting will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday February 14 in the LGA Fellowship Hall. The board will be updated on the Balanced Literacy initiative, the Director’s report and committee reports. The public is invited to attend.
Lionsgate Academy Board Members Hemlal Kafle and Marc Berris have resigned, creating two additional vacant seats. The Board will now fill three seats in the spring. One Lionsgate Academy parent, one Lionsgate Academy Licensed staff member and one community member will be elected. More information regarding the nomination process will be communicated in the coming weeks.
