After some diligent research I’ve learned that “the Ides of March” is not only an ancient Roman festival on the 15th of march, it was also a one-hit-wonder from the early 1970′s.
Pointless news aside, it’s time for Transition updates:
* Calling all Green Thumbs! Just as soon as the ground thaws, our Lionsgate Community Garden will be managed by some transitions students. Learning objectives will range from personal nutrition, recreation/leisure and plain ‘ol work ethic.
* Fishy News… the DNR sponsors a “fishin’ in the neighborhood program” in which local students/schools can stock a local lake and learn the finest in fishing and environmental management techniques. Again, coming soon when it warms up.
* Ticket to ride… during the week of May 16th, metro transit will pay a visit to our juniors and seniors with a hands on “how to ride” demonstration. That’s right, our very own bus… at least for a few hours.
