Lionsgate Academy formed its first competitive soccer team in the fall of 2011, comprised of 14 middle school and high school LGA students. The team was led by Ms. Kosher, Ms. Birkhofer, Mr. Gran, Ms. Schmidt and Ms. Twomey. The students played against Groves Academy at Carpenter Park in St. Louis Park on October 25th, 2011. The jerseys worn by the students and coaches were supplied by the Foundation. The Beautiful Game, a film documenting the forming of the soccer team, is currently showing on the Lionsgate Academy YouTube Channel.
