What exactly is transitions?

The word “transitions” refers to the focus for students with disabilities as they enter 9th grade or turn 14.  Upon reaching this age, the transitions department assists students and families in looking beyond the classroom walls and plan for the future.

The time for a student in transitional age (14 up to 21 if appropriate) is paramount.  Lionsgate Academy, in accordance with state/federal guidelines, implements transitional programming based on assessed student needs in the area(s) of Work, Post-Secondary Education and Independent Living.
